CEO of a major media company Vanessa Templeton has her world thrown upside down when an accident at sea causes her to wake up on a remote island with amnesia. There she meets photographer Eden Ford. Their connection is tested when Vanessa regains her memories of her life, but forgets everything that happened with Eden.
This book starts with an interesting premise. Sadly I feel that it falls a bit too much into a few tired cliches. A few times I felt that the author was building to certain events happening on the plot only for those events to not actually happen. This wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. I do like to be surprised, but at the same time this also felt like missed opportunities and bit like wasted effort on the authors part.
I like the characters but feel like both times that they fall for each other is not quite built up well enough. Vanessa was a well written tough CEO type when she knew who she was and Eden was very down to earth for being a very wealthy photographer. I did feel these two could have had really good chemistry, but again I think the development lacked a little something. It felt like the author was trying to show how meant for each other these two were after meeting again, but that fell flat. When they met once Venessa washed up on the island with amnesia had a bit more going for it, but this is where more of the cliche aspect felt a bit heavy.
Overall it was a book with a great idea, just wasn’t quite presented in a believable way.
Book provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
